Week 48 Results

Albeit, late, but here they are. Can you believe we have less than four weeks left this year? Man, the time has flown by.

Our playoff finals are actually underway this week between The Grateful Tread and Give 'em Gels. I expect this to go all the way to the wire!

I am trying to get all the registration complete for the 2012in2012 Club so I can hand this off to fellow members to take over next year. Should have several posts about this next week on the forums.

Take Care,
Glenn

Week 43 Results

Hey Club members...

Round 2 of the Quarter-Finals is complete; see the bracket below for the current standings.

Head2Head Matchups
The semi-finals will be held in Weeks 45-47. There will be one off-week (Week 48) and then the finals will be held from Weeks 49-51. Week 52 will have no team matchups.

Here is the current bracket:

Also, the five teams whose All-Stars won the matchup earlier this year will each be able to use an additional 5% scoring bonus in any of their matchups (Teams: iRunners, BTYBLTH (already used their's), Run Track Minds, Give Em Gel, and Beer Me Glenn!).

Important Club & Personal Announcement
I will be stepping down from the role of Club Admin at the end of this year.

This may be no surprise to some of you - given my lackluster ability to post results - and in that regard I feel badly that I've not preserved the high enthusiasm as in past years. This Club deserves to have a person at the helm who can help motivate fellow runners to reach and exceed their goals.

I'm very proud of how the Club has evolved since Karina (keenagirl) and I picked it up in mid-2008. A lot of credit must go to the Team Captains for keeping this organized and fun. I have always emphasized that this is an individual achievement club, but the teams do help a lot.

I will run the Club for the remainder of the year, but hope that someone will step forward and take on this role for 2012 and have spoken with a few members who have expressed an interest in taking over next year. I will be glad to assist the next admin with 2012 signups and such. There are several RWOL folks who have demonstrated some excellent database/web development skills that exceed my own and could really make some improvements to the function of the Club.

I still hope to participate as a member myself once I get my running mojo back (i.e., organize my time better), so I'm not saying goodbye. Just, "Thank You" for letting me be a part of this cool Club.

Take Care,
-Glenn

Signups for 2012in2012
P.S. It's almost time for signups for the 2012 Edition. We usually have them from end of October and run through early December. Keep your eyes open for a registration thread.

Hey Club members...

Well, the Playoffs are underway and our first matchups have been completed. BTYBTLH defeated Twisted Blisters in a very close match (only four mile-points separating them), and Beer Me Glenn! won over Mötley Shües. They go on to the quarter-finals.

Week 39 Results

Hey Club members...

Lots of things to talk about, so without further ado...

Head2Head Matchups
Week 40 (October 3-9) is the final regular season matchup week. The playoffs begin next week (Week 41, October 10-16) with a "buy-in" round for the bottom four teams.

The 7th & 10th place teams - and the 8th & 9th teams - will face off in single matchups to determine who will advance to the quarter-final round of the playoffs.

The quarter-finals will be held in Weeks 42-44, with all matchups being best two-of-three. The semi-finals will be held immediately after that in Weeks 45-47. There will be one off-week (Week 48) and then the finals will be held from Weeks 49-51. Week 52 will have no team matchups.

Here is a bracket showing how this is set up (letters correspond to final regular season ranking... "A" = 1st, "B" = 2nd, and so on to "J" = 10th):

Also, the four teams whose All-Stars won the matchup earlier this year will each be able to use an additional 5% scoring bonus in any of their matchups (Teams: iRunners, BTYBLTH, Run Track Minds, Give Em Gel).

Week 32 Results

Hey...as usual, I'm late getting the blog updated, but it is finally updated (including the Summary and Detail tables below).

The All-Star Matchups were just amazing last week and now we can start looking forward to the playoffs in a couple of months. The Club is also about to crack 200,000 miles for the first time ever and we're on pace to break 300,000 miles! Wow, I never imagined we'd hit that mark.

Anyway, y'all have a great weekend!

Week 27 Results

Hey Folks...sorry for the delay in updating the blog, but the summary table and detail posts table are updated. Don't know why the format is all wonky, but the numbers are good.

The All-Star Matchup will begin in just a few weeks (August 1-7), so teams should begin electing their representatives (four per team). Two teams with twenty members (representing five teams each) will face off for the All-Star title. The winning team grants an extra 5% bonus to be used later in the year during Head2Head - including the playoffs!

Y'all take care,
Glenn

There are a couple of weeks left before the deadline ends to revise your goals, should you choose to do so. Deadline is June 30.

Gotta run (finally!)

Week 20 Results

Hey, the results for Week 20 have been posted. See the link on the right for the RWOL results.

Position round is THIS WEEK in the Head2Head matchups. This means that all teams are matched up by their order in the standings (i.e., 1st vs. 2nd, 3rd vs. 4th, and so on). Should be some great matches.

Sorry for the delay in getting the results to you all; work has been very interesting!

Take Care,
Glenn

Week 16 Results

Hey Club members,

Week 16 results have just been posted (see link on right). We're about 3,200 miles over our goal pace so far and I don't see any signs of that dropping anytime soon.

We're now in our second quarter of the year, so if you're well above or behind your goal and don't see any significant change in your training, you should consider revising your goal. You may do so ONE TIME by June 30. Just send me a PM on RWOL and let me know.

Week 12 Results

Well, you folks are continuing to do a great job! We're now over 1,700 miles above our goal pace at this point. We've cracked 80,000 miles and not even completed the first quarter of the year!

Week 12 results are now available on RWOL.

Y'all have a great week!

Week 9 Results

Hey Club Members!

This week our Club reached a very significant milestone. For the first time since I've been running this club (Summer of 2008) we - as a group - are OVER OUR PROJECTED GOAL PACE! Currently, we are 389 miles over.

I never really thought we'd get to that point and I just have to say I'm happily surprised! I think helping moderate the goals at the beginning of the year helped a lot in this regard and I appreciate all of you who went along with the new guidelines and took my suggested revisions to your goals.

Hopefully, many of you will be able to increase your goal before the deadline on June 30.

Y'all have a great week!

Week 6 Results

Hey Club Members!

The results for Week 6 have been posted (see link on right of this page).

Nine of the ten teams reached 100% posting and I think next week we have a good chance of seeing all teams reach that mark.

I mentioned later in the Week 6 results thread that the Club overall is doing very well in terms of staying close to our collective goal pace (currently the total annual goal is 288,533 miles).

The split between members above pace and those below pace is pretty evenly split, so I think this is a good indication that the actions we took in regards to goal setting may be working out well. Obviously, this will be clearer by the midpoint of the year after persons have had a chance to adjust their goals (remember, June 30 is the deadline for making any change to your goal).

Y'all have a great week!

Week 5 Results

Hey Club Members!

Well, we've reached a breakthrough week. You will now see Individual awards for all categories now that we've gotten five weeks of posting to base them on.

Also, I finally managed to wrangle the table data for the Summary Table below and hope this helps you all get a better idea of your progress. I do hope to get the Detail Posts table up today as well.

Keep your eyes open in the next week or so for a members-only contest. The prize will be a $15 gift certificate for RoadID products.

Y'all have a good week!

Week 2 Results

Well, Week 2 is in the books (link to results on the right) and our first week of Head2Head matchups has begun. It's gonna be a great year, I know it.

As you can see, I haven't published the Summary Results table or Detailed Posting table yet. Blogger just can't handle an HTML file that large and I'm going to have to find a way to trim it down before posting here. But I'll work on getting them published as soon as possible.

Y'all have a great week!
